And the winners are . . .

Angelic Organics Learning Center and CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training) were pleased to present the second annual Beginning Farmer of the Year Award and Mentor Farmer of the Year Award at the 10th anniversary of the Good Food Festival in Chicago on March 14th. Learning Center Executive Director, Tom Spaulding, and CRAFT farmer and Learning Center board member, Dominic Green of the Gentleman Farmer, presented the awards.

To be nominated for the award, beginning farmers sent in four-minute videos explaining why they farm. In addition to receiving recognition and promotion for their farm, the beginning farmers were awarded cash prizes: $500 to first place and $100 for honorable mention. In addition, the first place winner named a mentor to receive Mentor Farmer of the Year Award and a $200 honorarium.

Without further ado, we are excited to announce the winners . . .
