Make Moving Pictures, Pablo Korona, Yatte Moore, Tia Smith, Roots & Wings, Blackhawk Courts

Yatte Moore discovered two passions and talents in the past two years that he didn't know he possessed: farming and filmmaking. Yatte's brother Desmond Moore was working with Angelic Organics Learning Center at Blackhawk Courts Farm & Gardens and got his older brother involved. Farming wasn't easy work, but Yatte found that he was good at it. "It made me a man," Yatte explains of working on the farm.

Our 10-week summer share provides you with clean, healthy, dazzling vegetables (and sometimes melons!) every Wednesday, all of which is grown, harvested, and packed by Rockford youth.

Ever wonder where Angelic Organics Learning Center’s Rockford Office is located?
For the last two years, we have been located on First Street, across from Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, but we are saying goodbye to that location.

It was Halloween Eve in Rockford, IL. Members of Blackhawk Courts Farm and Garden as well as staff from Angelic Organics Learning Center and Zion Outreach were transformed into the undead. AHHH! Zombie Farmers!

Blue Cross Blue Shield, Angelic Organics, Roots and Wings, Blackhawk Courts, urban agriculture, award

We are grateful to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) for awarding a $15,000 Healthy Kids, Healthy Families grant to support the Roots & Wings Urban Agriculture and Youth Development Program. The Roots & Wings network builds leadership, job skills and community through farming in the city of Rockford. Angelic Organics Learning Center coordinates the Roots & Wings network together with Rockford youth, their families, neighbors, and support organizations.
